Children’s Mental Heath Week 2021

Now, more than ever, it is important to look after and recognise your child’s mental health. We are proud to support Children’s Mental Health week this year (and every year!), with the theme this year being EXPRESS YOURSELF!

Expressing yourself is about finding ways to share feelings, thoughts, or ideas, through creativity. This could be through art, music, writing and poetry, dance and drama, photography and film, and doing activities that make you feel good.

It’s important to remember that being able to EXPRESS YOURSELF is not about being the best at something or putting on a performance for others. It is about finding a way to show who you are, and how you see the world, that can help you feel good about yourself.

FUN TASK! Why not try to make a sensory glue jar (think relaxing snow globe!). These are fun to make and are great tools to use when your child is feeling upset or struggling to self-regulate. Simply shake the jar, count to ten and wait for the glitter, glue and paint to settle.
