Four school boys in a Zoom call dressed up, one as a Dalmatian, one as Mr. Bump, one as Harry Potter and one as a footballer.

World Book Day 2021

Friday 5th March 2021 was Wetherby Kensington’s first online World Book Day! The boy’s took part in some great remote activities and of course, dressed up to the nines as their favourite book character.  A round up below of what the boys got up to:

Reception
Reception activities included ‘extreme reading’,  where they had to show themselves reading in funny places (highlights have got to be in on top of a post box and lying on a palm tree), designing their own bookmarks and making wooden-spoon book characters.
Year 1
Year 1 did a wonderful Quentin Blake illustration workshop, bookmark designing and they also took part in the big World Book Day Quiz!
Year 2
Year 2 showed off their creative writing skills by penning their very own scene from a book as well as designing a front cover to go with it.
Year 3
The oldest boys in the school took part in a class book discussion. Each boy brought along a book that meant something to them, and they were each invited to talk about this to the rest of the class. They also covered positive mindset and memories from the past. This was then linked to Harry Potter and they created their very own Patronus Charm!
