An assembly with Alex Van Holk

The boys were so lucky last week to have an incredible talk from Alexander Van Holk, Paralympian and Co Chairman of Walkabout Foundation. Alex is paralysed from the waist down and spoke about the amazing work that Walkabout had done for not only him, but hundreds of other people around the world. He shared his own story, as well as Murua and Joshua’s, whose lives were changed by receiving wheelchairs funded by the Walkabout Foundation. The boy’s asked so many good questions and were truly inspired by Alex!

We were also very excited that Alex launched our Wetherby Kensington Christmas Shoe Box Challenge! The idea is that each boy in the school brings in a shoe box filled with toys, and these will be distributed by the Walkabout Foundation to their partners in Africa. The boys were so excited to be involved in creating a special Christmas surprise for someone who would normally get no toys at Christmas time.
