Reception

Reception have had a fantastic week of learning at school! With Eco Week in full swing, Reception have been busy being Eco Warriors and have been determined to walk to school this week. The boys have also enjoyed taking part in the eco workshops. They loved Mrs Rais’ presentation on sustainability and shared such great ideas of important things we can do to help the environment. On Wednesday we had some animals visit us. The boys met a chinchilla, a bearded dragon, a tarantula, a giant millipede, and a snake! The boys got to stroke the animals and ask and answer questions about them. On Thursday, the boys were also lucky enough to take part in an online ‘Recycling with Mr. Fox’ workshop.

In class, we have been writing letters about how to protect the environment, creating posters to promote eco-friendly living and completing reading comprehensions based on the impacts of plastic pollution. The boys have also watched some excellent speaking and listening presentations based on people who inspire them.

Year 2

Year 2 also took part in some great activities, learning about how to look after our planet. They visited Eel Brook Common and took part in litter picking exercise with the local council, which was fantastic and the boys and parent helpers seemed to really enjoy themselves. They also had a talk from one of the mums all about sustainability.
